Eddie Caine is a young artist on the horizon who landed on the scene recently with his most recent full-length “Aqua 8s and Heartaches.” I’ve gotten to know this gentleman outside of his work, and am honored to call him my friend.

On Aqua 8’s, he expresses love for women lost (and some still within his grasp) from a manly perspective that shows frustration and a struggle within oneself to better himself as a man. I recently caught up with Eddie Caine, and interviewed him, seeing where he draws inspiration from, and what his goals are in hip-hop. During the 2010 BET Awards Nikki Minaj won the award for Best Female Hip Hop Artist. The other nominees were: Esther Dean (never heard of her), Lil Kim(washed up), Rasheeda (never heard of her) Trina (saddest bitch). Same thing happened in 2011. The nominees were Diamond (from Crime Mob), Cymphonique (who?) and Lola Monroe (WHO?!) and Nicki. Guess who won? Continue reading »

Hanging around older people has a lot of benefits. For instance, the gleaming knowledge they’ve gained through years of living and observing life. Older people (and by older, I mean 35+) usually do not hold very high opinions about contemporary music. I am told on almost a daily basis that today’s rap is garbage (arguable) and that old school artists are far more talented. I also hear about how today’s R&B is too focused on sex and does a terrible job discussing love.  Continue reading »
